PURPOSE: To provide athletic, professional and educational exchange that benefits all active and retired law enforcement officers and fire fighters.


ELIGIBLE AGENCIES: Certified Law Enforcement or Fire Fighting personnel with Federal, State, County, City, Municipal, Harbor/Port Authority, Transit and University — this includes U.S. Marshals, County Sheriffs and Deputies, Police Officers, Highway Patrol Officers, Firefighters, District Attorney's Investigators, Drug Enforcement Agents, Alcoholic Beverage Investigators, Fish and Game Officers, Parole Officers, Corrections Officers, Customs and Immigration Services Agents, Federal Bureau of Investigation Agents, Secret Service Agents, Justice Department Agents, Parks and Wildlife Officers, Military Police, Military Fire Fighters, and Prosecutors.


SPECIAL ELIGIBILITY Spouses, Support Staff, Volunteer Law Enforcement, and Volunteer Fire Service will be allowed to participate in all events except team sports (basketball, flag football, softball, indoor soccer). This includes:

It should be noted that those participating under this Special Eligibility – while still eligible to win a medal – will not take a medal away from a law enforcement officer, fire fighter, or other officer in the full-time section listed above. For example, if a spouse places first, and a full time police officer also places first in their event, they will both receive a gold medal.


ENTRY FEE: Per person fee is $40.00 for the first two (2) classes and $10.00 for each additional class.


UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT: Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be condoned either during, before or after competition. Any behavior which brings discredit upon the OHIO POLICE & FIRE GAMES will not be tolerated. Any physical or verbal assaults on officials, competitors, spectators, coordinators, or ex-officio’s will meet with immediate and the severest of penalty up to being barred from future participation.


PRIZES: Medals will be awarded to individuals, placing 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
